New road: Ionia Odos – Preveza (Aktion Airport)
On 22 July 2022, the first part of the new motorway connecting the motorway (Patras-Ioannina) with Aktion Airport was opened. During the construction works, interesting archaeological finds came to light, in particular parts of a cemetery of the ancient city of “Anaktorion”, near the small town of Vonitsa, which can be dated to the 4th to 2nd century BC. The new road, although not yet completed, has reduced the travel time from Athens to Lefkada by 20 min.
