Finally, Carnival again!

Our beautiful Lefkada (also called Lefkas) is probably a very famous sailing center in the Ionian Sea and home to numerous sailing holiday companies, but also an emerging cultural center that has a lot to offer. After a forced break of three years, Carnival was celebrated again and an exciting spectacle with carnival parades and colorful costumes attracted enthusiastic spectators. A seemingly endless number of carnival schools, cultural associations, municipalities, schools, and music schools joined in the festivities and even smaller communities decorated their streets and displayed their humor and ingenuity with their own groups.

The event’s culmination was the city’s great street parade on Sunday, February 26, 2023. In the evening, the prize for the best carnival parade was awarded on the crowded main square.
